New Year, New Classes at Sol Luna Yoga!

We are quickly approaching the end of 2022! Crazy, isn’t it?! This also marks the end of our second year as Sol Luna Yoga! We are grateful beyond words for you and your continued contribution to the beautiful community we’ve created together.

We want to nurture this community, which is why we sent out a survey last month - to hear directly from you about what you love about Sol Luna, what you want more of, and what you want to experience at Sol Luna Yoga.

Well, we heard you and we love all the feedback! To kick off 2023 we are implementing some of your requests, suggestions, and feedback into the studio.

(So if you haven’t already taken the survey and would like to, click here. We want to hear what you have to say.)

Drum roll please….

New Year’s Workshop
January 1: 11 AM - 1 PM

On the first day of the year, we’re holding our second New Year’s Workshop, back by popular demand, and let’s be honest, we’re stoked to bring it back for another year. This workshop is facilitated by Jen and Alyssa and is all about allowing yourself the space to reflect on 2022 and look forward to 2023. This workshop is very intentional (pun intended) in making sure you feel zero pressure to “set resolutions” and instead, simply acknowledge what you enjoyed about the previous year, what you want less of, and how you can move forward into the New Year with confidence and empowerment… and do it in your style.

Remembering Consciousness Workshop Series

Crystal’s Remembering Consciousness Workshop Series continues into the Spring of 2023, bringing you a new workshop twice a month! If you missed the first two workshops at the end of 2022, no problem! They are not a prerequisite for the remainder of the workshops. When you register for each workshop, even if you are unable to be there in person, a recording of the workshop will be shared with you after the live event.

Classes on Sunday Mornings

We understand with work schedules and family schedules sometimes weekends are the only time you’re able to attend a class. We’re hopeful these Sunday morning classes will help you both decompress from the previous week and also ease you into your week ahead.

Starting January 8:

Spark at 9 AM with Alyssa
If you haven’t already attended a Spark class, Spark is a traditional, beginner vinyasa flow kind of class. The class will begin with a few minutes of grounding and centering the breath before moving into gentle stretches, sun salutations, and the core class sequence. This class will encourage you to connect with your breath, feel into the poses, while also building heat in the body, energizing you for the day ahead. Class will end with a delicious savasana and sound bath.

Melt at 10:30 AM with Alyssa
Melt is a slower tempo class, utilizing common poses with lots of variations and holding the poses for longer than a traditional vinyasa class. This class begins with breathwork and guided meditation, moving slowly into the asana practice and ending with a gentle savasana and sound bath. Melt encourages connecting deeply with the breath as you feel into each pose, allowing time to sink deeper into each pose.

New to the Schedule

Blaze
Blaze is coming back in the New Year with Jen! Blaze is our intermediate class that moves at a faster pace and utilizes more advanced poses. This class is perfect for building lots of heat in the body and is a mix of cardio and strength training. The class ends with a lengthy savasana, bringing movement together with stillness. Blaze will ensure a focused and balanced start to your day! Blaze will be offered 1-2 times per week.

Play
New to Sol Luna Yoga, we bring you Play! Many of you asked for more learning about various topics in yoga, like arm balances, inversions and advanced poses. And others are interested in learning but may feel intimidated by the difficulty. Fear not! Jen decided to create a class to include each and every one of you. The goal for this class is to explore and have fun, with zero pressure to perform or nail the poses. Play will vary weekly in its class focus. One week may focus on inversions while the following week may focus on arm balances. The structure of the class will remain one hour in length, providing you the sense of a workshop but in a class time span, so you can balance work with play. This class will be offered 1-2 times per week.

Evening Class Additions

Heal
Heal is a Reiki share style class, guided by Crystal, who also facilitates Ascend class each week. A reiki share is a heart-centered space where participants learn more about Reiki and have the chance to be part of group Reiki healing. All levels are welcome and Reiki certification is not a requirement. Simply come as you are, with an open mind and an open heart and bask in the calming and soothing energy. Join Crystal Tuesday evenings as she brings back to back classes of Ascend and Heal. You’ll end your Tuesday feeling nurtured and at peace.

Spark
On Thursday evenings we have another back to back class schedule with Alyssa: Spark at 5:45 PM, followed by Melt at 7 PM. For anyone seeking an evening movement class after you end your workday, you can now choose from a faster paced class: Spark, or a more gentle class: Melt.

While these are new classes and workshops at Sol Luna Yoga, we still have some of our original classes and times continuing in the New Year as well. Be sure to continue checking out our full schedule on Vagaro and in our weekly newsletter, where you’ll receive weekly class updates and learn more about what’s coming to Sol Luna Yoga.

Insurance Can Pay for your Classes & Passes

As if all these updates weren’t exciting enough, we have more to share! Did you know it’s possible your insurance plan can cover classes and membership passes?!

If you have an HSA or flex-spending built into your medical insurance, this stipend can be used toward classes and membership passes at Sol Luna Yoga. If you do not have an HSA or flex spending, there is still a possibility it can be covered by your insurance. Give them a call and find out. Sol Luna Yoga is a Health and Wellness LLC which means medical insurance views these purchases as preventative health… and if you’ve been to a Sol Luna Yoga class before, you know… facts.

So as the year comes to an end, don’t let your stipend expire. Purchase a membership, a class (or two) and join us in the New Year. Let’s create, play, relax, radiate, reflect, & renew. Together.

Sol Luna Yoga Mission Statement

Sol Luna Yoga brilliantly weaves together the vibrant, energizing power of the sun
with the calm, reflective strength of the moon.

Our studio space is a refuge from the storms of life,
and we teach our students how to hold that sense of dynamic peace inside their bodies,
wherever they go.

As we explore a mindful practice
of being present with the body
and moving with intention,
we experience the capacity for deep connection
within ourselves and with the world around us.

We learn to respond to life with healthy strategies
rather than react to life with our old, ineffective habits.

We live with greater balance:
physically, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually.

We nurture ourselves
and hold compassionate space for the people around us.
Regardless of past experiences or lack thereof,
we invite you to explore your potential
for goodness and grace.

We invite every body to experience what it’s like
to reflect, renew, and radiate all the light inside.
